st_aspen_dayOH ASPEN. How glad am I to know you? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS:
1. to the depth and breadth and height
(because you have an enormous array of very intelligent, thoughtful, and wide-ranging advice to provide for any circumstance, and also you are very tall)
2. to the level of everyday's most quiet need, by sun and candle-light
(see above in terms of advice for all occasions, which would be the metaphorical sun-bit, but also especially in the metaphorical candle-light when all of a sudden TERRIFYING IDEA ASPEN emerges to share some idea of serenely all-encompassing evil)
3. freely, as men strive for Right
(because an Aspen idea always seems like the right idea, EVEN WHEN IT IS one of the aforementioned terrifying ideas)
4. purely, as they turn from Praise
(I love how sometimes you try to pretend that the five million balls you juggle in the air are normal. YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL. ADMIT IT. Face the praise!)
5. with my childhood's faith
(man, I think back on myself at age eighteen, just out of high school, and I think: good lord, Aspen met me then and still talks to me now! HOW DID I GET THAT LUCKY?)
